I hold bachelor's degrees in music education and psychology from Bowling Green State University, a master's degree in counselor education from The Ohio State University, and a doctorate in addiction psychology from Capella University. I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor and licensed clinical addictions specialist, and a former professional school counselor. I can work with clients in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, and Florida. My clinical approach utilizes motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychoeducation. I believe you are the expert in you, and my role is to help you develop the tools you need to reach your goals. I have lived experience in the areas of Korsakoff's syndrome, aviation, and chronic illness. In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy volunteering with my local public school band program, the American Red Cross (Disaster Mental Health), and the Arthritis Foundation (subject matter expert; national JA conference committee member).
